food
Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good celebration surrounded by my family, friends and food (and a speciality whiskey sour made by Mr Morrison Collaborative). Food has always been at the centre of our family gatherings, since childhood. It was the thing that brought us together, it generated conversation, taught us lessons about our culture and also gave us an opportunity to explore different flavours and textures and share them with our better halves, children and in-laws.
The photo to the left is me stirring the pot, literally, stirring for hours. Every year, we get together as a family to make a traditional Burmese Christmas pudding. This is my Uncle with me, supervising, in traditional dress and a traditional Aussie beer. Nothing better than having two cultures join.
As you scroll through, you will find some of my favourite recipes and recommendations of some of my favourite places to eat around Perth to break bread and connect with your loved ones.
